  • HISTORY ASPECTS:
  • The Airbus A321neo is the largest member of the A320neo family, combining the proven A321 airframe with new-generation engines, aerodynamic improvements, and other efficiency enhancements. The type provides airlines with the capacity of a narrowbody while offering the range and operating economics needed for a broad range of domestic and international routes. United Airlines has made the A321neo an important part of its long-term fleet modernization program, using the aircraft to replace older narrowbody jets and support continued network growth.
  • N44550 is an Airbus A321-271NX, manufacturer serial number 12815, built in 2025 at Airbus' Mobile, Alabama, facility. The aircraft received its FAA airworthiness date and U.S. registration on October 22, 2025, and was delivered to United Airlines later that month. It entered United service on October 30, 2025, making it one of the airline's newest-generation narrowbody aircraft. N44550 is powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1133G-JM turbofan engines and is configured with 20 United Polaris-style First Class seats and 180 Economy seats, for a total of 200 passengers.
  • N44550 became particularly notable in early 2026 when United added a special “100 Years” anniversary marking to the aircraft. United Airlines traces its history to 1926, making 2026 its centennial year. Rather than receiving a completely different full-body paint scheme, N44550 retained United's contemporary livery and received the distinctive anniversary graphics, making the aircraft an instantly recognizable member of the carrier's fleet. The 100 Years marking was first documented on the aircraft in January 2026, shortly after it entered service.
  • During its first year of operation, N44550 has been used extensively across United's domestic network, appearing on routes through major hubs including Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, San Diego, and Washington Dulles. Its appearance on the United network also represents the continuing expansion of the A321neo within the airline's fleet. As a modern commercial passenger aircraft, N44550 has no military combat history; its significance lies in its role in United's fleet modernization and its special place in the airline's 100th-anniversary celebrations.
  • This 1:200 scale model in “100 Years” livery captures a distinctive aircraft from United's centennial year. The combination of the modern A321neo, United's current livery, and the special 100 Years anniversary marking makes this model an appealing addition to collections of United Airlines aircraft, Airbus narrowbodies, or historically significant airline liveries.
